Comments: Murphy is a great example of raw talent.  During his early baseball years at junior college and the early part of his BYU days, he had to play through adversity to become a star at each level.  He eventually signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers instead of joining the USA National Team.  He was an All-Star catcher in the professional ranks and was also a steallar player/manager in the minor leagues.  Murphy is one of the most keen baseball minds in the game today and continues to advise and counsel players in the pros now.  He is the head coach of Cal. State Dominguez Hills and has gotten several players signed to professional contracts.
